Sunoco Logistics to Invest $4.2 Billion in Marcus Hook

Philadelphia-based Econsult Solutions, Inc. today released an economic impact study that finds the Sunoco Logistics (NYSE: SXL) Mariner East projects are expected to add up to $4.2 billion to Pennsylvania’s economy, supporting more than 30,000 jobs during the construction period and approximately 300-400 permanent jobs. The study, commissioned by Sunoco Logistics, is designed to forecast the potential economic and fiscal impacts of its proposed Mariner East projects on the Commonwealth’s economy, including the development of a 50-mile pipeline that connects with an existing pipeline, construction of a new 350-mile pipeline, and the repurposing of its Marcus Hook Industrial Complex to store and process natural gas liquids (NGLs). Marcellus-Utica Midstream Conference – Barone Notes

Last week’s MUM conference was pick up for everyone who attended.  The conference presented a realistic look at the oil and gas price declines compared to other downturns and it does not seem as bad.  Additionally, it was a midstream conference and midstream work is continuing unabated.  My notes from conference. o Kudos to Hart Energy for a superb conference which saw record attendance in the range of 2200 attendees.  I credit the record breaking attendance to the industry’s need to get the latest information.  As we see the oil and gas industry is very dynamic, and literally, situations change overnight.  I encourage vendors to the industry to attend as many information events as you can in order to stay current with the status of drilling or midstream activity. o Thank you to Barry Davis, EnLink’s President and Chief Executive Officer, for calming the concern over falling prices.  His presentation illustrated the price declines since the mid 1980’s.  The price dec

Enlink signs agreement with Coronado Midstream

The EnLink Midstream companies, EnLink Midstream Partners, LP  and EnLink Midstream, LLC  (together “Elin”), today announced that the Partnership signed a definitive agreement to acquire Coronado Midstream Holdings LLC (“Coronado”), which owns natural gas gathering and processing facilities in the Permian Basin, for approximately $600 million, subject to certain adjustments.  Coronado operates three cryogenic gas processing plants and a gas gathering system in the North Midland Basin including approximately 270 miles of gathering pipelines, 175 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) of processing capacity and 35,000 horsepower of compression.  Construction of an additional 100 MMcf/d of processing capacity and gathering system expansions of the Coronado system are currently underway.  Coronado s key assets have been constructed within the past five years and the system has current inlet volumes of approximately 100 MMcf/d.  EnLink plans to connect the Coronado system with i

Predicted Shale Oil Impacts on Global Markets

A projected eight million barrels of liquid natural gas and oil were added from tight plays in North America between years 2010 and 2020. Obviously, there are numerous global implications across the fields of academia, environmental advocacy, and oil advocacy. In general, the consensus from different groups is that oil prices will gradually decline due to domestic shale mining, and more information from ongoing research and development initiatives will simultaneously mitigate concerns about safety and environmental impact. Where the U.S. Is Today Currently, the tight liquids production rate in North America is approaching and passing 4 million barrels per day, including liquid natural gas. Approximately 50 percent of growth is currently attributed to Eagle Ford, and other notable growth is shared between Bakken and Permian Midland. ENLINK MIDSTREAM EXTENDS OPEN SEASON FOR OHIO RIVER VALLEY CONDENSATE PIPELINE SYSTEM PROJECT
