Bechtel Awarded Columbiana NatGas Power Plant

Bechtel is ready to begin working on this power plant which will use Marcellus and Utica natural gas to deliver low energy cost to Ohioans. Below is the release from Bechtel which illustrates its urgency to get this plant built. Bechtel, a global leader in engineering, procurement and construction, has been selected by South Field Energy LLC to design and build a combined-cycle facility in Columbiana County, Ohio that will deliver a clean, reliable and efficient source of energy to more than one million homes. Bechtel has received approval to begin construction immediately on the 1,182-megawatt South Field Energy facility. The peak construction phase is expected to create approximately 1,000 jobs. The facility is scheduled to enter commercial operation in 2021.
