Marcellus Utica Conference in Houston

A conference is being held in Houston in November as part of a larger effort to highlight the opportunities that abound from the Marcellus and Utica for decision makers looking to the future of energy. This event will spotlight various speakers from the Ohio-Pennsylvania-West Virginia region and companies that are anchored in Houston that are actively collaborating to advance the growth in the Appalachian Basin. The event, hosted at the JW Marriott Galleria, will be held just thirty-six hours after the close of the polls in the November election. This will provide companies with an immediate evaluation of the political landscape of the three active states and predictions for the future of policy in regards to the energy industry throughout the Marcellus and Utica basins. Although the Marcellus and Utica overlap, and many companies treat the region as one entity, the distinction of three different states with changing views in policy and direction can make the area more complicated than other sections of the country.   Pennsylvania and Ohio will both have gubernatorial elections this November and all three states will have legislative elections.  Ohio has seen turnover in its legislative leadership and West Virginia has recently elected a new Speaker of the House and will see major changes in the state Supreme Court. In addition to policy updates, panel topics will include midstream operations, power plants and the burgeoning petrochemical industry of the region. With ethane prices at multi-year highs, many are looking to the Marcellus and Utica to bolster their resources and investment as the Appalachian Basin develops ethane storage, cracker facilities and other downstream capabilities to enhance the development of natural gas. The time to invest in the Marcellus and Utica is now. This conference will provide direct insight as to why. www.marcellusuticahouston.com
