Next Thursday, May 17, the Upper Delaware River Basin Citizens or UDRBC will be holding an event in Narrowsburg, NY to talk natural gas industry progress.

The UDRBC, lead by Ned Lang and a large group of Upper Delaware River citizens frustrated with the DRBC’s unjust denial of economic opportunity to the region will be conducting an in-depth discussion of natural gas exploration and development. It will feature three speakers including, not only me, but, far more importantly, two very exciting industry leaders who will provide fascinating insights on what’s happening. Natural Gas Exploration and Development – The Industry Today, will feature three sessions discussing the progress of the industry today and the outlook for natural gas. The seminar will be held from 9:30 AM to 2 PM and will feature the following subjects;
- Regional and Global Impacts from Shale
- Perspectives on Regional Shale Development
- Legal/Political Implications Concerning Shale (Especially in the DRBC region)

Tom’s recent focus has been on natural resource development, specifically natural gas exploration and development and related topics.
He is a recognized leader in outreach activities related to Marcellus Shale matters, including economic development, community impacts and the agriculture interface with this multi-billion dollar industry across the Commonwealth. He has also traveled around the world (Argentina, Poland, etc.) to investigate and educate others regarding shale issues.
Bill’s work in educating others about the Marcellus Shale continues with his position at Cabot, whether on work sites or in the classroom or creating seamless communications between industry operators, suppliers and contractors.
Bill’s work with energy source development, infrastructure and the impacts of such have made him a nationally recognized expert in his field.
I will be presenting Legal and Political Implications regarding Shale including an explanation and update on pending lawsuits.
As many readers are aware, I’m the owner of the Shepstone Management Company, Inc., which specializes in planning and research consulting for both public entities and private clients throughout the Northeast.
I previously consulted and served as a spokesman for Energy In Depth to promote natural gas exploration and development in Northeast Pennsylvania and Southern Tier of New York and now maintain this blog. UDRBC maintains that natural gas exploration and development, balanced with existing and planned renewable energy systems, in the Upper Basin offers tremendous sustainable economic opportunities for the residents, communities and businesses of Wayne, Pike and Sullivan Counties.
The UDRBC Seminar/Special Event Series will feature spring and fall opportunities for public education focused on key issues important to the Upper Delaware River Basin. The seminars aren’t just for Upper Delaware citizens or pro-gas supporters, but, rather for everyone—citizens, conservationists, landowners, public officials, reporters and others with an understanding that “it’s more than a river.”
Upper Delaware River Basin Citizens is a 501 (c) (4) nonprofit corporation advocating issues for the Upper Delaware River Basin (NE Basin) of Pennsylvania and New York.
